How we work, and how it is proven.
A research material is only as good as the record standing behind it. This page sets out who we are, what is done to every batch before it reaches you, and who we will and will not supply.
Reta Research LLC is a United States company supplying peptides as analytical reference materials for laboratory research. We operate on a narrow premise: a research material is only as useful as the documentation standing behind it. Purity claimed without a chromatogram is not a specification — it is an assertion.
That premise shapes how we work. We hold a short catalog rather than an exhaustive one. Every batch is analysed by an independent laboratory, and the certificate on file covers that batch, not a representative sample from an earlier one — ask and it is yours. And we replaced the conventional storefront with a request process, because a compound intended strictly for research use should not be one click away from anyone who lands on the page.
We are candid about the limits of our role. We are a supplier of materials and their specifications. We are not a research partner, a consultancy, or a source of protocol advice — and we will say so rather than improvise an answer we are not qualified to give.
What is done to every batch.
-
Reverse-phase HPLC
Material is separated by hydrophobicity on a C18 column. The area of the main peak relative to total peak area gives the purity figure quoted on the certificate. The chromatogram is reproduced on the COA so you can see the baseline and the minor peaks yourself, rather than taking a single number on trust.
-
Mass spectrometry
The observed molecular weight is compared against the value expected from the sequence or formula. This confirms you have received the compound named on the label — the check that catches substitution and mislabelling, which purity analysis alone will not.
-
Batch traceability
Each batch carries a lot number printed on the vial, and the certificate we hold references that same number. Ask for the certificate covering your lot at any point — before ordering, on delivery, or months later. If your records and the vial disagree, tell us and we will resolve it before you use the material.
What a certificate has to show.
A certificate that omits the lot number, the issuing laboratory, or the chromatogram is not documentation — it is marketing. Ours carry all three.
Note it in your order request and the certificate for your lot comes with our reply. If you already hold material and want the paperwork for it, write to us with the lot number from the vial.
- Product name & catalog number
Identifies exactly which item the document covers.
- Lot number
Matches the number printed on the vial you receive.
- Date of analysis
When the testing was performed, not when the page was printed.
- Purity result & method
The figure, plus the chromatogram it was derived from.
- Identity confirmation
Observed versus expected molecular weight.
- Issuing laboratory
The third party that performed and signed off the analysis.
Material only holds its specification if it is kept properly.
Compounds are supplied lyophilised. Storage conditions are stated on each product page and on the label. Broadly: keep lyophilised material at −20 °C, protected from light, and avoid repeated temperature cycling.
Once reconstituted, material should be held at 2–8 °C and used within the window your own protocol establishes. We do not specify that window for you — determining suitability and stability for your particular application is your responsibility, and we are not in a position to make that call on your behalf.
